Bio

EDD: September 21, 2007
baby's birthday: September 15, 2007 :)

I had a positive hospital birth experience, they do exist :)

I have a "regular" LJ, this is just my pregnancy drama one ;)
[info]boilermish for my day to day life.
Caution: hormones make me sort of cranky and the sarcasm sometimes comes out even stronger. I may bitch about stupid things I see on the internet. Feel free to skip if you disagree, or join in the fun. I believe in if you can't say something nice don't say it at all on the big communities... I have better things to do than exchange bitchy comments with some random internet stranger.

I'm fine with friending other pregnant people as long as you don't try to force your beliefs on me in any of the following areas (and respect my choices I may discuss on here). I won't pass judgment in comments on your choices on any of these areas either, deal?

1 - breast vs bottle. Every family has their own situation, I am happy being friends with bottle or breast feeders. I wasn't breast fed and I don't hate my Mother, and didn't develop all sorts of funky childhood diseases/allergies. Nor did I die of SIDs. I plan to do what is right for my family. Don't give a shit what the interwebs say.

2 - circumcision. We're having a daughter so I don't feel my thoughts on this issue should be of any concern to you. :) Again, I don't want to see your 87 internet links one way or the other. I. Don't. Care. Its not my kid's genitals.

3 - birth environment. I will deliver in a hospital. I don't care to discuss my plans for birth. Doctors and nurses are not evil baby stealers, get over it. I'm sorry you/someone you know/random internet lore had a bad experience. Doctors kept me alive when I was born 6 weeks premature.

4 - sleeping arrangements are up to individual families.

5 - car seats, strollers, and swings are not torture devices. I don't think babies should be left in them for hours on end, but carrying my kid on me everywhere isn't happening.

6 - I will work at least part time when my child is born. I'd love to be a SAHM but it isn't in the cards. If you'd like to pay my share of our household expenses I'd gladly stay home. If you aren't volunteering $ then you don't get an opinion on if I work or not :)

7 - diapering. I will not be using cloth. Don't feel like getting into financial debates about it. I clip coupons, belong to Costco, and will have help from my Mom and other family members in child care. Don't think its fair to make them deal with cloth while I work. This is what makes sense for my family. See #6 if you disagree and unless you're bucking up some $ you don't get a vote.

8 - vaccinations. I don't want your random internet articles on vaccinations, thanks. Most of those diseases you think are "cured" aren't around the US anymore BECAUSE OF vaccinations. Goes along with I don't consider medical care/staff evil. Haha, I even have my own website to direct you to: http://www.cispimmunize.org/fam/misconceptions.html http://www.cispimmunize.org/fam/fam_main.html
